Hello Muffins, as the year draws to a close, I have indulged in a number of product purchases and have made my selection of my favorites in no particular order, here they are:

1.First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

This cream has truly done wonders for my winter dry / sensitive skin. A friend recommended this to me and I was lucky enough to find it in stock here in Pakistan via a seller on facebook. My skin within a few days became less patchy and felt more hydrated. Love, love, love! I bought the 2oz tube which costs around $12 and may range anywhere between Rs 1500-2000. Internationally this is available at www.sephora.com or www.firstaidbeauty.com

2. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Invigorating Shampoo

This was also a recommendation from a friend. My go to hair savior, Paul Mitchell’s tea tree invigorating shampoo infused with peppermint. I had starting developing a flaky scalp and this shampoo came to my rescue. It clarified my scalp leaving it dandruff free and nourished. I am currently on my third bottle. I own the 10oz bottle which costs around $15 and is available online at all leading drugstores such as www.target.com, www.ulta.com

3. Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment

So I have to admit it that I suffer from cracked heels. Having dry skin, my soles also suffer. Despite regular pedicures, I felt that my feet needed some in house pampering as well so I decided to invest in the Bath and Body Works true blue spa cracked heel treatment which contains glycolic acid to smoothen the surface of the skin. This has become my Holy Grail foot treatment product and I have just popped my second container. This is available at www.bathandbodyworks.com for $21.

4. Narcisso Rodriguez Eau De Toilette for women

Out of a number of perfumes I got to wear and test, Narcisso Rodriguez EDT for women was one that stood out the most and I found myself reaching out for it the most as well. It has got sensual woody, musky and rosey notes and is especially wonderful for this time of the year. I have the 1.6oz bottle which is priced at $79 and can be found at www1.boomingdales.com

Now let’s get in to my makeup picks…

5. Make Up Forever Ultra HD Liquid Foundation

They changed the formula and made it even better, they changed the categories and made it even clearer. I am talking about the Make Up Forever ultra HD foundation. I purchased mine from Sephora Dubai and I bought the shade Y365 (yellow undertone). Although the formula is amazing I feel that I may have gotten a shade darker than my skin tone but I mix a lighter foundation to get the perfect mix. This is available online at www.sephora.com for $43.

6. M.A.C Pro Longwear Concealer

After taking Natasha’s of Natasha Salon’s makeup course, this has become my holy grail of under eye concealers, I use the shade NW25 and I mean wow, this product does not move, I will use this forever now, seriously. Available at www.maccosmetics.com

7. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

After reading up and seeing endless positive reviews on the Laura Mercier loose setting powder, I decided to take the plunge and got the translucent shade for setting my under eye area and oh boy I love it, like love it! It of course is rather expensive $37 on Sephora (standard size jar), I only use this under the eye and use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana to set the rest of my face. The Laura Mercier powder is amazing as my concealer doesn’t budge or wrinkle up throughout the day.

8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in So Hollywood

My favorite illuminator of the year, from the finish to the texture to the price. This is my most reached out highlighter. So Hollywood is the perfect gold highlighter for my brown toned skin. To see swatches please visit my instagram profile: www.instagram.com/themakeupmuffin

9. Makeup Geek Eye shadows

Almost every look I have done this year had to have a Makeup Geek eyeshadow in it. Every praise I do of the quality of this brand and its products is less. I am looking to try more of their range in 2016 like blushes, brushes and the duochrome products. Shop these at www.makeupgeek.com/store

10 a.NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Creams and Matte Lipsticks

So I have to admit that I am late in jumping into the NYX cosmetics ‘matte’ band wagon. But now that I have, I am head over heels. The price, the quality, the color range and the longevity all are top notch. The colors that I own in the matte lipsticks are: Whipped caviar, Merlot, Alabama and Aria. Whereas in the soft matte lip creams: Prague, Monte carlo, Cannes and San Paulo. These are available on most facebook pages in Pakistan and online at www.target.com, www.ulta.com for $6 a piece.

10 b Bioderma Sensibio makeup remover

Okay so I cheatedand created a b. category only because this product just had to be mentioned to complete my yearly review. The Bioderma sensibio H2O makeup remover. My skin is extremely sensitive to makeup removers and Bioderma is my go to makeup remover. It has a lightweight, gentle, non drying formula that doesn’t leave the skin stripped of moisture, furthermore it is fragrance free. This can be purchased from renowned drugstores in Pakistan and as well as online too at www.feelunique.com or www.amazon.com

So this completes my yearly review, I wish I could add more products to my yearly favorites but perhaps I can review them as monthly favorites or something. I would also like to mention here that all these products have been purchased by me and are not here on a sponsored or as paid reviews.

Until you meet me again, Happy New Year Muffins, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. All links given here!

Xo, Sarah.
